A common beginner’s worry: “I drew a reversed card. Is that bad?”

No. Reversed cards aren’t bad luck, and they aren’t warnings. They’re the same card, turned inward.

What a reversal can mean

A reversed card can mean any of four things, depending on the card and the position:

A useful rule

Read the upright meaning first. Then ask: what would happen if that energy turned inward? If upright The Tower is “sudden upheaval,” reversed The Tower is “the upheaval is happening internally” — the rebuilding is already underway beneath the surface.

When in doubt, use position

A reversed card in The Present says something about your current state. A reversed card in The Outcome says something about where the energy is moving. Let the position narrow it down.
